Our third book highlight for Alaska Native Heritage Month is “Eagle Drums” by Inupiat author Nasuġraq Rainey Hopson. It’s a middle-grade story about cultural origins and beautiful legend, and in 2024 it won a Newbery Honor, one of the highest recognitions for children’s literature.
